Mercury by Giambologna (Louvre) (reduction)

Code S27

Replica of the famous Mercury by Jean de Boulogne (1529-1608) modeled around 1580. The original was displayed in the garden of Villa Medici in Rome until the end of the 18th century, today in the Bargello National Museum of Florence.

The figure presents a great dynamism and lightness leaving the feeling that it must rise in flight sustained by the wind that comes out from the mouth of Zephyr placed at the base.
