Portrait of Michelangelo Buonarroti from the famous bust modeled by his friend Daniele da Volterra (Daniele Ricciarelli). The portrait was made in 1564, probably using  a death mask taken from the great artist’s face, and then completed in the bust by Giambologna in 1570. The bronze bust is now in the Museum of Casa Buonarroti in Florence.
