Herm of Pericles

Code B51

The herm was found near Tivoli in 1779 and is now in the Vatican Museums. Pericles is portrayed in a classical style with Corinthian helmet raised, from a bronze prototype by Kresilas modeled for the Acropolis of Athens around 440 b.C.
