Roman copy from an hellenistic original by Praxiteles. Originally identified as Thanatos the Genius of Death. Discovered in 1770 in Centocelle near Rome on via Labicana, then acquired by Pope Clemente XIV, today it is exhibited in the ‘Statue’ Gallery of the Vatican Museum.
